Q: So let’s say I join this thing, then what?

A: You will be part of the coalition of organizations and individuals in working on awareness and advocacy. Also you can get involved with what we have already started depending on your interest, or you could come up with ideas to see if the group can take it up.

Q: What is the coalition?

A: A chain of organizations supported by FPA and facilitated by the National Youth Coalition.

Q: Do I really need to be young?

A: No. we do not have an age barrier in joining the coalition.

Q: How much of a time-commitment does it take?

A: Depends on status of the project we are involved in. Typically it will require roughly about a 5 to 10 hours commitment per week.

Q: I am a student/ working will that be a problem?

A: No, most of the current people involved in this group are either students or working themselves.

Q: On what basis does this coalition operate?

A: we are a 100% voluntary team, and supported by organizations in functioning.

Q: If I am outside Colombo?

A: Right now, the coalition is planning to have main events in and out of Colombo, so if you are based in a major city or the close to a city, please do contact us and see what you can do and how you can facilitate and help us to bring one of these awareness programmes to your town.

Q: Will I get paid?

A: No. It’s voluntary, remember?

Q: Where is your office?

A: We don’t have one. We meet at FPA when we need.

Q: How often do you meet?

A: We meet at least once in two weeks, but we call for meetings when required.
